School closed 27th April and 2nd May
Dear Parents and carers, re NEU Industrial Action
Dear parents and carers,
NEU Industrial Action
You may have seen in the news that some teachers have voted to strike across a number of different dates over the coming weeks. This action is not caused by any argument with Low Hall Nursery School but is centred on a dispute over pay, which is set by National Government.
The next strike dates that will impact upon Low Hall Nursery School will Thursday the 27th of April and Tuesday the 2nd of May. After discussion with our governing body and a risk assessment on our legal duties of care we have collectively decided that, unfortunately, we will have to close to all children on these days. We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes you. As we will not have a qualified teacher on site, we will not be able to offer any key worker care. As in any school we have to have a qualified teacher in class to meet our legal requirements around staffing.
If you pay for child care we will deduct this from your monthly fee the following calendar month.
We hope that negotiations with the government and the NEU are successful, and that this matter will be resolved.
Please note the Nursery will also be closed for two bank Holidays on Monday 1st of May, for May bank holiday and Monday 8th of May for the King’s Coronation.
Warm regards
Helen Currie
